Century United Girls Teams follow up Century Boys to Impress at the 2013 Jefferson Cup

Three Century United Girls teams (U12s, 13s and 17s) participated in the 2013 Jefferson Cup in Richmond, Virginia competing against many of the strongest clubs in the country including many ECNL represented organizations.  The Century Girls proved that they can not only compete with these teams, but can succeed with a beautiful style of soccer.  The results from the weekend were impressive to say the least, as one team was crowned champion of their showcase bracket, one finalist and one semi-finalist.

U17 Girls South - Champions

 

The U17 South Girls team swept through their showcase event with a record of 3-0, beating teams including ECNL representatives East Meadows SC and McLean MPS Fury as well as NEFC Elite.  In the final game, the girls took a commanding lead and held on for a 5-2 victory to secure the Championship.

 

U13 Girls East Extreme - Finalists

 

The U13 Girls East Extreme ran through their bracket play untouched beating teams from powerhouse clubs PDA, Beach FC and Premier SC by the combined score of 9-2.  In the finals, the girls played a great match against Bethesda SC Academy showcasing a possession-brand of soccer, coming up just short by the score of 2-1.  Overall, another great tournament weekend for the team!

U12 Girls East  - Semi-Finalists

 

The U12 Girls East started strong in their bracket play with two big wins against New York Rush and Severna Park before losing to a strong Richmond Strikers team 1-0.  In the 3rd place game, the girls played a great game against Loudoun and ended up tied 1-1 after regulation to finish as semi-finalists in this great event.
